At the 2023 edition of Lowlands Festival, the first version of the Poem Booth was launched as part of the literary programme. The Poem Booth is an AI poem machine that, based on a photo taken on the spot, develops a beautiful poem in no time, responding to what the photo shows. For this version, VOUW asked Maarten Inghels, former city poet of Antwerp, to tailor and tune the poems. After this, more poets will be involved in the project, and VOUW will also expand the project to other languages. The initiative aims to strengthen human values with technology through slow-tech innovation. Poem Booth was developed in collaboration with Hugo Visser of Little Robots.
