Newsletter: Slow moments, big milestones — VOUW Summer Update August 2025

This summer brought new perspectives — launching our first lamp for private collectors, moving to a new studio, great press coverage and putting our mission front and center on our website: technology that cares about people. Justus & Mingus. Bloomlight S launch at our new studio: This summer, we unveiled Bloomlight S during an intimate dinner in our new studio. Buyers, press and friends gathered around a long table. Hosted by art journalist Yuki Kho, with music from soprano Brigitte van Hagen & Accordionist Robbrecht van Cauwenberghe, and words by poet Ellen Deckwitz, the evening embodied what Bloomlight S is meant to be: a gentle invitation to pause, connect, and embrace small moments. The first pieces are now delivered. Frame Awards has included Bloomlight S in their selection for best light design. You can order your Bloomlight S at the introductory price of €3500. Poetry Where It Belongs: Geneva—At the UN's #AIforGood summit, the Poem Booth stood quietly amid the noise. Friesland—the Poem Booth toured public libraries from Harlingen to Dokkum. USA—A local team is now in place for the Poem Booth in the United States; for bookings reach out to Jackie Guscott MacAllen. Press Coverage—Elsevier Weekly profiled VOUW, tracing our path from the first Bloomlight to City Gazing, Chairwave, and the Poem Booth: 'Geen efficiëntie maar poëzie.' City Gazing Aarhus—End of August, City Gazing arrives in Aarhus, Denmark for the 60-year celebration of Aarhus Festival, in collaboration with history museum Den Gamle By. Studio News—We've moved to Generaal Vetterstraat 57, Amsterdam (once home to Benthem Crouwel Architects). We hosted the closing evening of the Communicating the Arts conference. Things That Inspired Us This Month included Mars (a Louis Vuitton Travel Book), 'All Watched Over By Machines Of Loving Grace', the IA Writer Notebook, the life of George Price, the documentary 'Alamar', and an auto-aiming trash can. Cheers, Justus & Mingus.
